Two new coaches have joined Favourite Badminton Club’s team this year. Both have tons of questions with regards to how you should manage certain aspects of coaching while running an efficient practice for children/teenagers. Originally we were planning to meet only as Favourite’s coaching team and discuss all kinds of things that the coach may come across. However, later, after speaking with a few other coaches, we realized that it would be beneficial to all of us if we will be meeting once in a while and discussing how we run our classes, what problems we face, how we overcome difficulties, etc.
Therefore, we decided to invite all of you to participate in this discussion on Sunday, September 8th, at 4-7pm (could be a two-hour session, depending on the number of coaches present).
I am attaching the Agenda for this clinic for your consideration. If you feel like you have any other additional questions that you would like to ask/discuss/share with others, please, send them to me and we will include them too.
The new badminton season is beginning very soon and some of you might have a limited coaching experience, where others coached for a very long time. I truly believe that sharing our ideas/problems/achievements will help us all and overall add to the value of the development of badminton. Since our club and most of the ones copied have more than one or two students in a class, we will be discussing problems related to this type of badminton clubs.
I would like to make this “Clinic” an open discussion. Since we organize it, I can definitely start and “kinda” lead it, but I would be very grateful if all of those, who will participate, will be commenting and adding to whatever we will be discussing. Even if you only have questions and no answers, it might be helpful to others too, since all of us might have similar questions and would like to discuss them as well.
I don’t think that we’ll need more than one court, since we will mainly be discussing “our problems and/or achievements”, but, just in case, I will reserve a court or two, if we’d want to share some of the technical knowledge that we have. The cost of this clinic will be covered by Favourite Badminton Club (unless, GBDBA would decide to reimburse the club later). Therefore, the Clinic is free to you! However, if you would like to stay after it and play, you would need to pay regular facility’s rate for that time slot.
Even though the clinic is free, we are asking you to register for it just so we know who is coming and how many courts to reserve.
If you know of any GBDBA coaches who might also be interested and are not copied on this e-mail, please forward it to them.
Hope to see you all there!
